Winter poem by Matt Engelmann

Winter poem by Matt Engelmann

Fox in his winter fur defying the winter cold.
The photo was taken during the first heavy snowfall on December 5th, a week before the ski lifts in the area opened.
That was the last time that I could see the young foxlady before sunset. Since mother and daughter have their refuge very close to the ski slope, they now wait for the last slope check before they venture out.
Then, however, they also have the ski slope at their disposal and do not have to work their way through the now meter-high snow.
Until then, I will wait patiently for the days to get longer again, and then maybe I will be able to watch the foxes in the vicinity of their shelter again …
